The Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve is a national committee of the Department of Defense that recognizes and honors employers, reservists, military leadership, and volunteer committees that support the U.S. Guard and Reserve. Patriotic Employers pledge to honor and implement the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Right Act (USERRA), employ managers and supervisors with the abilities to successfully manage and work alongside employees that have served in the Guard and Reserve, and to support our U.S. service members and their families with devotion during times of peace, crisis, and war.

Green Mountain Communications recognized and honored all of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve pledges by supporting a Green Mountain Communications employee and her spouse during an extended time period of military service. The employee received flexible time off when her spouse was given days of leave on short notice and when her spouse required surgery and specialist treatment in Virginia for military related injuries. Green Mountain Communications consistently offered support and interest in her and her spouse’s wellbeing during his active duty status.
