Working as part of the Green Mountain Communications team, the candidate will be responsible for designing, building and testing radio systems for commercial and municipal customers.
Responsibilities: - Ability to perform all stages of RF design, including: search ring process, optimal site selection, link budget analysis, RF sweep evaluation, interference mitigation, and spectrum management
- Utilize propagation modeling tools and other techniques to design large-scale complex radio networks
- Experience designing, installing, and testing, microwave radio systems
- Work effectively with multiple teams including customers, project managers, sales, marketing, and field teams in order to build wireless solution projects
- Develop/design complex in-building wireless systems utilizing propagation tools, software, and other methodologies
- Analyze test results and optimize system design and performance
- Optimize end to end performance of Wimax broadband network, including the RF and IP layers, backhaul issues, capacity management, spectrum management, interference mitigation, troubleshooting packet loss, throughput and latency issues
- Utilize complex test equipment and post processing tools for network optimization
- Assist in the troubleshooting of RF coverage issues, including RF field measurements
- Develop and implement appropriate processes and procedures for system design, installation, and test
Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications. - Min 5-7+ years of RF network design experience preferred
- Bachelors of Electrical Engineering, Masters preferred
- Prior RF, microwave, and IP experience
- Working knowledge of RF planning process and use of propagation tools (multiplexor, T-1 circuit, testing and design)
- Experience with Radio system design tools (Motorola’s LinkPlanner, PathLoss, Wireless Valley, etc.)
- Experience with PTP microwave backhaul radios – 4.9, 5.8, 18, 23, GHz is a requirement
- Vendor management experience
- Solid understanding and hands-on experience with RF instrumentation and tools
- Strong RF systems engineering knowledge
- IP networking experience and knowledge a strong asset
- Excellent communications, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Flexible person with the skills to manage stressful situations and adapt to changing environments with minimal supervision
- Travel within the northeast – 150 travel miles estimate as needed
- Team player and strong work ethic
- FCC filing and frequency coordination experience a plus
- Candidate should be capable of climbing ladders/stairs while carrying test equipment
- Valid, clean driver’s license required
